The responsibility for homing the animals is entirely within your hands, but this forum may help you find the right home.

Here are some guidelines we recommend to help you determine that the animal you are trying to home is adopted into a stable, life-like home with a responsible pet owner.

Potential adopters must be adults.
When you meet the potential adopter, find out where they live, get a telephone number (not just a mobile but a home phone) and ask to see their identification.
Do not give the animal to someone who wants to give it to another person as a gift.
Do not give the animal to someone who wants to use it as a guard dog.
Find out if the potential adopter has had other pets and what happened to them.
Do not give the animal to someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
When you have agreed that the potential adopter can have the animal, arrange to bring the animal to their house so you can check out the situation.
It is wise to neuter the animal before homing it
Offer to take the animal back if there are any problems.
After the animal has gone to his new home, phone after a week to inquire about it.
While it is wise to be careful about potential adopters, once the animal has gone and you feel it has a good home, let it go. Do not keep phoning….do not demand a year later to come back and check on the animal. Make the best decision you can and then move on.
